Welcome to Bay City, a Big Bang creative community for Starsky & Hutch fandom.

Starsky and Hutch have been working the mean streets of Bay City for over 38 years. Some of our fans weren't even born the first time the Torino burned rubber on Ocean Avenue, while others enjoyed the show during its first run. New ideas keep a fandom fresh. We hope the Bay City Big Bang might generate new ideas that will keep our boys rolling down those mean streets for years to come.

So, what's different in Bay City? Our Big Bang has a theme. We're hoping that suggestions for potential story lines will spark a healthy round of creativity in new and old fans alike. This year, we're calling the Big Bang, "Starsky & Hutch, Present Tense." We're looking for stories, art, and other creative endeavors that bring our boys and all our favorite Bay City characters into today.

Why? Fans have repeatedly expressed an interest in creating SH stories or art without being constrained by the show's 1970's milieu. Many fans are not old enough to remember those times, and research for historical accuracy is often spare when it comes to familiar terms, expressions, geography, and most especially, social attitudes. The further we get from the 70's, the harder it is to "get it right," even for those who lived it. While most of us will always love stories and art set during canon, many fans have expressed an interest in moving the guys into the current era and we wanted a place to open the fandom to that possibility and showcase those ideas.
